- July 22, 1965 Cortez [Cortes] Bay B.C.
This AM. [morning] powered over to Manson's
Landing + then walked to Hague Lake for
a warm fresh water swim + wash. The lake
is becoming popular with 50 or so on the beach
including a number of well upholstered
bikinis.
In afternoon sailed round Reef Point
+ trolled through Baker Passage catching
enough grilse for dinner. Retained 6
one 12" [inches] the remainder smaller but so
badly injured it would have been futile to
return them. Released 7. Another boat
brought in 6 all under sized - had let
one more go. Made dinner ashore 3 boats
Sierra [?] (Fred Hayley [word crossed out] Haley + wife Dotty + 2 [illegible word] end of
Seattle) Passat (now reduced to 3) + Carina with
5. The spit at N [north] end of Hernando was our
rendezvous.
Saw many Douglas Squirrels on Hernan [word crossed out] Cortez [Cortes]
Isl. [Island]

Uneventful, peaceful day of bright sun
