Visited Dr Lemke [Laemke?] at the
Museum to examine types
of
Volutopsius castaneus
Nassarius perpinguis
Lacuna divaricata
Polinices gronlandica [groenlandica]
Velutina laevigata
Lepidochitona marmosea
Only the last could be found
+ Dr Laemke tells me that
many types became lost
during the war + during
a period of indifference
earlier.
In conversation he described
his search for the ecologically
richest areas for dredging.
He finds that eddys just
behind rapid current runs,
or at the merging of currents.
He uses a small dredge
about 1 ft [foot] by 6' [feet] which he
has used by swimming it
out + dragging it in by
hand.
