Found a small colony on a knoll at
S [south] end of lake just west of here, also
several small colonies on mountain
further west. Females nursing +
moulting heavily. Took 1 [male symbol] + 4 [female symbol]'s.
The latter had uterine scars as
follows, 8, 7, 6, 1 in the multiple
births the left horn had 2 in each
case.
Weights are on labels of specimens.
Baculum left attached on [male symbol] specimen.
Alarm note a harsh bird like noise
quite unlike anything I have heard
from any other groundsquirrel.
