Antlers:- Jiggs shed his (fork)
antlers on Feb. [February] 1.
Teddy, the big buck still
has his solidly attached. He spent
10-15 minutes strongly horning
a tree + thrashing his antlers
in a salal patch. Repeated
horning has rubbed the hair
from a small patch between
his antlers. Buttons of yearlings
becoming very noticeable
Voices: Teddy became excited at
my presence. Raised his tail
perpendicularly, + erected hair at base
of tail, Raised head + extended
nose then exhaled in a long
short lasting about 20 seconds
[illegible name] tells me that he
frequently does this when
excited at feeding time.
Diseases:
Doe, thought to be same as was
sick last fall, is very poor, hair
rough + she spends most of
her time apart from the
other deer. Does not even associate
with her fawn.
