- [Poster 02 - scene 2, left panel, second part of the story:] In the third lunar month of spring, Wu Song returned from the Eastern capital, reported to his superiors, and went to visit his brother. How was he to know that when he entered and drew back the curtain, Wu Dalang’s memorial tablet would be set up inside the house? With the instigation of [the matchmaker] Old Woman Wang, [Wu Dalang’s wife] Pan Jinlian had formed an adulterous liaison with Ximen Qing, they had poisoned Wu Dalang, and to hide their crime they had cremated the corpse to destroy the evidence and create a false impression. When Wu Song learned the facts he made an indictment to the authorities, but without success. In an uncontrollable rage to avenge his brother, he cut off Pan Jinlian’s head, then, grasping his knife, he ran to Lion Hall and had a savage fight with Ximen Qing, cutting off his head, and thus removing a horror from the people of Yanggu. Truly: Two heads were presented to the memorial, Wu Song took revenge on his brother’s behalf, From ancient times injustices will be avanged, Good and evil will always get their due.
[Poster 02 - scene 4, right panel, fourth part of the story:] After being beaten by Wu Song in Kuaihuo Mountain, “Door-god” Jiang could not bear the humiliation, and sought help from Commander Zhang and Militia-head Zhang. The three of them came up up a ruse to get Wu Song appointed instructor in the local military, and fabricated a charge against him stating that Wu Song has stolen valuables from the Commander's house. Wu Song was imprisoned and then exiled to Enzhou because of this false charge. “Door-god”Jiang was still not satisfied, so he bribed the guards and hired an assassin to kill Wu Song on the way to his exile. Contrary to his expectations, Wu Song killed the guards and the assassin in Feiyunpu. Then Wu Song broke into Commander Zhang's Yuanyang Tower at night and killed the three villains as they waited for news [of Wu Song’s death]. Wu Song finally avenged the injustice against him. Truly: Villains conspired and devised a plot; Wu Song fought his way out with iron fists; In killing the wicked officials, Wu Song let their blood flow in the Yuanyang Tower.
