July 21, 1936, Ootsa Lake, B.C. [British Columbia]
On a trip to Eutsuk +
Whitesail lakes saw hundreds
of these birds. They here
breed most abundantly in
the spruce - balsam assoc.
of the Hudsonian zone though
many were seen along
the Whitesail River at lower
altitude. Here many of
them were engaged in
catching flies [word crossed out] insects in the air
after the manner of the
cedar waxwing.
