Diseases + Injuries.
Autopsied a dead buck found
by C Hancock at Happy Valley,
dead on [one] week. Death caused
by peritonitis resulting from
22 shot through post. [posterior] abdomen.
Antlers had been shed a day or two
prior to death.
Some sloughing of hair +
swelling around the eyes.
Same man reports catching
by hand + killing a fork buck
covered with large warty growths
- fall of 1931.
Bruce Cash reports another
case of this disease, a spike
buck shot in late November
1939 at Prospect Lake.
