  • Gadwall. Cummings Lake. July 15, 1948. Found a nest on the N. [North] side of the lake. Sitting bird left while we were a consinderable distance from the nest. 7 eggs. The grass 20' from water on open hillside alongside large stone, heavy down lining. Alkali Lake, Aug. [August] 15/48 [1948]. According to Mr Riedermann Gadwall nest regularly + in fair numbers here. I myself saw a large brood with the [female symbol] + later took a young bird.
