- Snow Goose
Devona. May 10/44 [1944]
At 8 o'clock this morning a
great flock of snow geese - 200
strong came beating down the
valley after resting on Talbot
Lake. One among them was
a lone goose of the Branta [underlined]
group. It was smaller than the
snow geese, quite considerably so
+ showed a black tail with
white at the base on top.
I have put it in the day book
as a cackling goose.
Jasper May 12
Bert White tells me that on the
evening of the 9th this flock of
geese circled over his cabin +
then went west. He thought they
rested on Lucerne Lake.
