This evening while coming
up along the road just at dusk
I heard a mouse-like skueaking [squeaking] plus
a scratching of bark. My light
picked up 2 reddish eyes which
I shot - a [female symbol] flying squirrel.
50 yds. [yards] further down the road
the same thing happened except
that I couldn't pick up the eyes.
A little later this squirrel
crossed the road - a distance of
some 40 ft [feet]. I shot at it but
missed.
The [female symbol] obtained was no
longer nursing.
