Quamichan Lake. Aug [August] 19, 1939
2 hours on western half
of Lake saw 70 adult coot
and 10 young. Others were
present but not seen in
the reeds.

A large flock of about
50 coot seen just above the
Admirals road bridge
Burnaby Lake. May 28, 1942
Found ten coot nests, most of
them right in the open - not floating
but a large pile of Typha [underlined]. In one
nest the young were hatching. Three
were out + dry + a 4th pipped all
other nests examined had the eggs
hard set.
