Willows in the open meadows are
browsed 60% or thereabout.
Game seen:- Elk 17

Around wet meadow here are
a pair of snipe, a pair of yellowlegs, of
solitary sandpipers + 2 pr [pairs] red wing
blackbirds.
Willow Creek. May 20, 1944
Hiked west to Mud Creek + back through
the timber + sloughs north. Distance
about 10 miles.
Willows heavily browsed all over
the range here. Aspen barking increasing.
This is excellent range - open pine
woods, lots of wet birch + willow
meadows + south facing sidehills with
aspen + grass.
Elk, moose + deer sign abundant some
caribou
