Usnea 5 min. [minutes] Salal berries 25 min. [minutes] Hawkweed, Heuchera, huckleberry + wheat grass 15 min. Most deer seen were browsing among the bracken where they were eating a variety of plants among which the following supplied the bulk. Hawkweed [underlined] (Hypocharis radicata) flower tops eaten extensively, it grows in mats over large areas, leaves basal + too short to be plucked. Hawkheard (Crepis biennis) [underlined] flower heads + leaves, fairly common in more moist areas. Alder (alnus rubra). Willow (S. [Salix] sitchensis) Snowberry Blue lupine (L. [Lupinus] latifolius var. [variety] canadensis) mostly the seed pods + flower heads eaten. Self heal (Prunella vulgaris) slightly, rare - flower heads eaten
