- Met a young American
student Robert H. Parker
he struck me as being very
bright. Graduated Duke,
then worked Scripps 4-5
years doing extensive studies
in Gulf of Calif [California] + Gulf of
Mexico very carefully
documented with 11 ecological
measurements. O2 [oxygen], temp. [temperature] +
bottom sediments.
Dr Laemke speaks very highly
of him, says he is an
excellent worker + has 3
major studies any on [one] of
which would serve as an
acceptable PhD [doctorate] thesis.
He gave me copies of 7 of
his papers.
He is using the computer
to develop the correlates
first of species + then of
species with certain ecological
conditions. Saw some of
his maps - looked fascinating
