En route here from Banff saw
2 [male symbol] moose both in Banff Park.
Athabasca Falls July 6/45 [1945]
Only moose seen on Buffalo
Prairie were a cow [underlined] + calf [underlined].
There were no moose bones at
the wolf den.
Banff. July 7/45. [1945]
En route down saw a
cow and calf at mile 95.
The calf was eating equisetum?
the cow definitely eating the tall
aquatic equisetum [underlined]. This is the
first calf seen eating green food
this year.
A bull watched feeding here
two days ago was eating equisetum
exclusively. Standing in 2 ft [feet] of
water he plunged his head deep
in to emerge with mouthfuls
of the long coarse reed.
