June 18/36. [1936] Vancouver - Merrit.
June 19. [1936] Merrit to Anarchist via
Princeton, Keremeos + Richter Pass
Country between Merrit + Princeton
fascinating - a succession of lakes
with reedy shores. Saw ducks +
black terns on several of them.
Saw two buck mule deer on
roadside.
Some nice riverbottom land
along the Samilkameen [Similkameen], should be
good for chats.
While descending from Richter
Pass saw a pair of quail + took
the [male symbol]
Eleven miles up the Osoyoos-
Anarchist Mt [Mountain] road we saw
a doe whitetail deer in mid
afternoon.
Camped at 17 mile creek.
June 20. [1936] Anarchist Mt. [Mountain]
Took 4 crossbills. - Evening Grosbeaks
+ chipping sparrows common.
Saw. 4 Ruby crn. [crowned] Kinglets
1 Nuchal Sapsucker
1 Calliope Hummer [Hummingbird]
2 Clarkes Crow
4 Chickadees (Long-tailed?)
4 Wood Pewees
6 Tanagers.
20+ Warbling vireos
