  • 37 36/3. Okanagan Falls. June 23/36. [1936] Anarchist Mt [Mountain] to Okanagan Falls. Saw several magpies + a rock wren on the slope of Anarchist [Mountain]. June 24/36. [1936] Got up at 5:30 + hiked back to Cliff E [east] of Lake - a few w.t. [white-throated] swifts, no rock wrens, 2 magpies, 2 Lazuli buntings + several 3-4 [note inserted] orioles, Lark Sparrows + Chipping Sparrows Later in morning bagged 3 swifts. Heard + saw chats at Vasseaux [Vaseaux] Lake, in evening heard a poor-will + Horned Owl. A single pair of duck hawks nesting on cliff at S [South] end of Dog Lake. June 25 [1936] Went in to white Lake in the broiling sun + hunted for Sage Thrashers + Brewers Sparrows getting ad [adult] [male symbol] + [female symbol] + 2 juv [juveniles] of former [line underlined] + 4 [male symbol] + 1 [female symbol] of latter. Also took a sharp-tailed grouse. Brewer's sparrows as common as Vespers. Sage thrashers are just beginning second nests.
