- Microtus pennsylvanicus [underlined]
Westwick Lake May 4, 1955
There has been a plague of microtus
during the winter. Burrows + detritus
everywhere, as couch [grass] is now sparse
the animals are to be seen under boards
+ other shelter. Took 3 of them by
hand + noted the great range in color.
One adult male is almost as gray as
montanus [underlined].

Three grey microtus seen under
the tent frame.
June 9, 1955
Young ones appeared in the tent.
The whole litter is grey.
