- 24 Jardiniere 1: 23.9 cm, Qianlong (1736-1795)
The exterior of this blue and white rectangular jardiniere, with bluish white glaze, is decorated with a continuous lotus scroll in the fifteenth century heaped and piled style. It has four ruyi shaped legs, and the base has two holes and an unglazed rectangular area.
25 Candlestick h: 42.2 cm, Qianlong (1736-1795)
Made in three sections, this blue and white candlestick is decorated in Ming style with continuous peony scrolls and various petal bands. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, Europeans sent wooden and metal models to the Chinese for copying into porcelain. This candlestick is an example of the Chinese imitation of Western shapes for export.
26 Dish d: 16.7 cm, Kangxi (1662-1722)
The red colour on this langyao dish is stronger and more translucent in the centre. The underside is finely streaked. The lip is edged in white and the base is covered with a buff crackled glaze.
