[November] 3/34 [1934] Two of these also seen along upper end of Mr Palmers ranch at Okanagan Ldg [landing]. Nov. [November] 6./34 [1934] One seen on first part in [illegible word] property. North Kamloops. [Month not visible] 15/35 [1935] Iona Is [Island] B.C. [British Columbia] Seven S.E. [short eared] owls seen during afternoon. Some were flying + others arrived from marsh. Luscher found a wounded [female symbol] which he captured + later shot a [male symbol]. Nov. [November] 11. 1935 Iona Is. [Island] B.C. [British Columbia] A [male symbol] collected along wild crab hedge in [illegible word] swamp about 3.30pm Now No [number] [space left blank] in Provinicial Museum. Stomach contents (See letter Nov [November] 20/35 [1935] Prov [Provincial] Museum) or [Ian McTaggart] Cowan) Pellet contained skeletal remains of a small sandpiper, possibly Western Sandpiper. Nov [November] 1. 1925. A pair seen at [illegible word] cannery Canal Pass near Ladner B.C. [British Columbia] One was flying along dyke + the other was perched on fence post with wings drooping at sides Nov. [November] 14/35 [1935] Found one dead on a stump just below [illegible word] Cannery. + in the evening saw one of these owls flying along shore. One pellet from Sumas Prairie, date confirmed two Townsend Voles Dec [December] 18. 1937. Lulu Isd [Island] B.C. [British Columbia] In fields inside dyke near road 8th Saw 9 s.e. [short-eared0 owls. Seven of these flying about hunting, all day, + the other two were dead, one in field + one on foreshore. Sea Island B.C. [British Columbia] March 3. 1938. Seven s.e. [short eared] owls seen flying about or sitting on lower parts during late afternoon. One was a rather pale coloured bird. Lulu Isl [Island] B.C. [British Columbia] Dec [December] 3. 1938.
