- Traps + packed some of our luggage
Aug. [August] 26 [1931]. Packed up + pulled out.
Had lunch at Redstone.
Slept the night at Withrow Creek
A great many Bendire Crossbills,
seen + several taken.
Aug. [August] 27 [1931]. Lunch at Williams Lake
where we secured groceries
+ indulged in the first hair
cut in over a month.
Malcolm Fergus of Williams Lake
tells me that the coast deer
have started coming into the
country. In the fall of 1930 he
saw 3 on the road at the
lower end of the lake + ran
one down by accident.
These were 1 buck + 2 does.
3 others were also seen at
Lac La Hache. Spent the night at Lac La Hache
Aug [August] 29 [1931]. Left Hat Creek at 11:15
Had lunch about 10 miles East of
Lytton. Had supper at Yale
then proceeded to Aldergrove.
Saw a Jumping mouse in the
meadow at Hat Creek but could
not secure it.
