Dominant are two large sedges + a fine one, with an understory of Oenanthe + veronica. near the edges + on higher spots St [Saint] Johns wort, Alpine star flower + Viola palustris. Some Galium in these spots also. The swamp gentian is characteristic of this type. Spirea douglasii is abundant but usually low growing + occassional [occasional] plants of Ledum [underlined] occur. Little feeding is done in the swamps at least up until this date. Oenanthe [underlined] + a very little sedge is the only browsing noted.
