half this morning I heard the
crack of horns but was unable
to locate the contending rams.
Fighting + horn breakage:- Two of the
ads. [adults] on Old Fort had their noses
bruised and swollen + each had
large freshly broken chips off
the tips of their horns.
Injuries:- One adult ram at 4 mile
had the right front canon +
metatarsal joint swollen, it limped
heavily on this foot.
Kills:- Frank Wells found an 8 year old
ram pulled down by wolves on
the crossing from Astoria creek to
Buffalo Prairie in November.
Today I found the skull +
backbone of an old ram recently
killed on Old Fort. This is reported
to have been an cougar kill, coyotes
have cleaned it up.
Food:- Sedge 7 minutes

Grass 1125 "
Grasses included Brome, Stipa, Agropyron +
Pine grass as well as purple reedgrass + Junegrass
with little evident selection.
