  • Direct tracing of an Amygdalea [Tracing] The lot of 2 with no locality has one broken specimen. The remaining right valve is the specimen figured by Reeve on Yoldia pl [plate] 1 fig [figure] 3b. One of the 3 from Kamtschatka [Kamchatka] is the basis for fig [figure] 3a. Both are referred to as Yoldia amygdala (sic) Both these lots are from Cumming. Coll. [Collection] Reeve Conchologia Iconica vol [volume] 18. Yoldia amygdalea Vol. Valenesommes, Malleques, in, M. Abel Du Petit - Thouars. 1846 Voyage autour du Monde de la Frigate Venus. Plate 23, fig [figure] 6. This figure is an excellent + readily recognizable one + a perfect match for one of the 3 BM [British Museum] unnumbered specimens from Kamtschatka [Kamchatka], which, with the other 2, identical specimens (except for darker color) all came from the Cumming Collection. A check of the route followed by the Venus renders it most likely that the specimens were acquired at Kamtschatka [Kamchatka], as the usual mass off soundings between Hawaii + there, except at (Petropavlovsk[underlined]) but figures of other specimens taken revealed that collecting was done ashore at Kamtschatka [Kamchatka]. Reeve, L.S. Conchologia Iconica Vol. [Volume] XVIII [18] 1873, London figures 2 specimens as amygdala (sic) both from Kamtschatka [Kamchatka]. The brown figure Pl [plate] i fig [figure] 3b is the right valve of the specimen in BM [British Museum] that has left broken Fig [Figure] 3a is drawn from one
