Quite common in rock piles at lower end of Medicine Lake + at + near the sheep range at Maligne Lake. Saskatchewan Crossing. May 23/45 [1945] A few heard about mile 104 on J.B. [Jasper to Banff] highway Waterton Lakes, Alta [Alberta] July 22/45 [1945] Here we have found pikas scarce heard or saw them on the slide behind the supt's [superintendent's] house, on the big slide just S [south] of town across the lake, on the slide just S [south] of Bertha Bay on Waterton L. [lake] + high up at the head of Crooked Creek. Sulphur Spring Aug. [August] 13/45. [1945] Pikas were found in the first draw + 3rd draw here - I cannot imagine how they got here - a long hike from other suitable slides.
