- (B)With the exception of those items mentioned under (A), the specified furnitures and fixtures such as Desks, chairs, tables, bedsteads, mattresses, bathtubs, electric wires and illuminators, wardrobes, cupboards, telephones, refrigerators, electric fans, stoves, cooking stoves, carpets, radio-sets and curtains which fall within the purview of Article III of the Proclamation issued on November 13th, 1942 in the names of the Commanders-in-Chief of the Japanese Army and Navy in the Shanghai Area. Shall be left in the house as they are.
(C) The goods or merchandise which have been prohibited to remove, to sell or to dispose by the previous Proclamations issued by the Commanders-in-Chief of the Japanese Army and Navy shall also be left in the present locality.
(D) Silverwares, jewels and souvenirs may be packed in cases and entrusted with the Protective Power. The said cases shall be left unnailed with the respective Consulates-General in charge of enemy interest for the inspection of the Japanese authorities.
(E) The other articles not included in (A), (B) and (C) may be sold or disposed of at your discretion. The money realized by such disposals can be taken to the Civil Assembly Centre. As to the articles not disposed of before the time of assembly, they shall be either left in your home of shall be entrusted with G.E.Marden & Co.’s No. 15 Godown, Race Course Market, packed and labelled with your name and entrance number together with a detailed list thereof. Articles left or entrusted shall be disposed of by the Japanese authorities on your behalf.
(F) On leaving for the Civil Assembly Centre, you shall lock and seal your dwelling securely and for the time being you may place your dwelling under the case of your friend or relative (until it shall be administered by the Japanese authorities). In case of an apartment or boarding house your rooms shall be taken care of by the administrator thereof.
(IV) On the day of your removal, your shall wear on your left breast a card showing your entrance number and shall bring and submit to the Japanese officials at the Columbia Country Club an envelope (attached herewith) enclosing
(a) keys of your dwelling and of properties left behind,
(b) two copies of the plan showing the location of the dwelling,
(c) list of articles left behind in triplicate,
(d) list of articles brought to the Civil Assembly Centre in duplicate,
(e) a statement giving the name and address of the administrator of your dwelling, if appointed.
NOTE: (Your name and entrance number should be clearly written on the envelope)
(V) In case you have any question concerning this notice, you should make enquiries with the Japanese Consulate-General and act in accordance with their instruction.
