later another deer came trotting
over the hill from the west,
seemed confused as to the
route to follow, changed
direction several times after
stops to examine the terrain
+ listen. Finally heard the
others in the distance +
walked off in that
direction.
Single heavy doe jumped
from bed at close range
at 2 P.M. She trotted
out of sight + refused
to bound.
