Plenty of moose sign until we came over
the Cuthead summit. Down Wigmore
Cr. [creek] tall willows are practically devoid
of moose browsing.
Yaha Tinda [Ya Ha Tinda] Ranch - July 7/43. [1943]
Some moose sign down Panther
+ across to here. Winter sign +
recent sign on ranch -
Kills:- 2 large bulls, antlers on -
dead 1941-42 on trail between
here + corners.
Divide Cr. [creek] Cabin. July 8/43. [1943]
Moose droppings here from early spring
activity. 1 large bull seen at mouth
of Tyrrel Creek in beaver meadow.
Indianhead cabin. Clearwater R. [river] July 10/43 [1943]
Saw a [female symbol] before we left Divide Creek
this morning + another in the meadow
at this cabin. Lots of winter sign along
lower part of Peters Creek.

Moose sign very abundant apparently
winter here in some numbers. Willows
#5 especially 70% + number 4 40% as well chief browse
but Eleagnus [Elaeagnus] browsed about 50%.
Clearwater Lakes Cabin. July 13/43 [1943]
Saw 3 [female symbol] moose without calves [words crossed out] 1 calf - very large big as a deer at a
mud lick just in front of cabin. [illegible words]
Moose browsing very heavy down

Calves:- Calf very large, larger than mule deer + dark in color.
