Ticks:- Ixodes californicus [underlined] abundant
in axilla + groin - specimens
of both sexes taken. Sites of attachment
were marked on the inner side
of the skin by large inflammatory
areas 6 or 7 cm [centimetres] in diameter +
adjacent lymph glands were
congested + enlarged.
Biting lice [underlined]:- very abundant - approx. [approximately]
5 per sq. [square] inch. - all stages present
Sucking Lice [underlined]:- on neck + dorsum
in large numbers about 2 per sq
in [square inch] in these regions.
Lipoptena [underlined]:- Moderate infestation about
1 per 6 sq in [square inch].
Trichurus [Trichuris] ovis [underlined]. 12 in cecum + colon.
none remained attached. all are [female symbol]'s
Oesophagostomum [underlined]:-
Very abundant - about
550 present in entire length of
the intestine. Diarrhea may have
been induced by the presence of these
worms. There was an evident
inflammation particularly of the colon
+ cecum. Small reddish spots
were present over the entire lining
