- Zapus. Surel Creek. July 18, 1936. Caught several at the bases of small willow clumbs [clumps] in a meadow near the creek mouth. Monashee Pass. 4000'. June 23/37 [1937]. Caught one very large [female symbol] + two smaller animals. These were abroad very early as they were taken from the traps at 7:30 P.M. in broad daylight. The [female symbol] had 5 embryos 2 cm [centimetres] long. Another [female symbol] seemed to be nursing but I am not sure of this. June 24/37 [1937]. Large [female symbol] + 5 [male symbol]'s taken [female symbol] had 3 half developed embryos.
