Comparing my single specimen
with a series in BM [British Museum] from Nova
Scotia I think the Pacific Coast
form has distinctive characteristics
It is longer posteriorly + more
pointed. Overall narrower in
proportion. Get a series of these
for comparison.
The specimens are very like
some of the specimens id. [identified] as
hyperborea but I think these are different
It will be necessary to check the
fig [figure] + or type of hyperborea to
amygdalea to determine the
allocation.
Main ext [external] diff [difference] from hyperborea are
dull cuticle, no ventral indentations
Shorter + deeper muscle scar, thicker
shell
