Whiteman cabin. June 15/43. [1943]
Saw a [male symbol] on Bryant cr. [creek] + a [female symbol] on the
Spray. Lots of droppings all along from
Spray Lake to here. Apparently there
is quite a heavy wintering population.
Food:- The balsams all along the Bryant creek
trail have been heavily browsed
from 3 ft [feet] up. Indicating a heavy
winter utilization of this forage

Enroute from Banff saw a 2 year old bull.
Therre are moose summer and winter
up Healy Creek.
Healy Creek June 19/43 [1943]
Quantities of moose up Brewster
Creek. We saw 4 bulls + 3 cows today
in 12 miles
Willows are browsed 90-98%
Lonicera 80%, Betula 80%
Kills:- Found remains of a 2 year old
bull, no evidence as to cause of death.
Died after antlers shed + large bones
not badly chewed.
