- main food of Bears in June is the young fawns. This was on the slope above Haley Lake [underlined] Green Mt. [Mountain] [note added later] Some of the young showed moulted patches at the base of the tail dorsally ad. [adult] [female symbol] 9 3/4 lbs [pounds]. Teeth very pale yellow. Whistle not nearly as shrill as the mainland animals + not so frequently given. Animals very tame. Bear sign common.
