  • Oreamnos amc. americanus (Blainville) Cascade Mountain Goat. [all underlined] Texas Cr. [Creek] Lillooet B.C. [British Columbia] Nov [November] 4th 1937 [date underlined]. One seen by [Ian McTaggart] Cowan + self lying down by small pines high up on southern slope in Bear Valley. On Nov [November] 6th [date underlined] when returning down Valley. Saw three more goats high up on cliffs. All below the "Forks". The first was a large billy on right side + later two others lower down the left side Had excellent view of these animals through glasses [binoculars] [Ian McTaggart] Cowan tried to collect two of these creatures but they were too distant in inaccessible rocky faces + were very shy having been first hunted by Indian as well as white man.
