June 5 [1931]. Ran out + photographed
two rocks having colonies of
microtus, one of them completely
cut off at all times. I made a
collection of the vegetation on
this rock.
Took up all traps + packed
specimens. 3 more Seal skulls.
June 6 [1931]. Packed up + caught
the boat at 10 p.m.
June 7 [1931]. Boat left Tofino at 6 AM.
Good weather until about
noon then it started to blow
+ was quite cloudy + rough
for [word crossed out] by the time we reached
Alberni.
In afternoon picked up the
car + ran out to Beaver Cr [Creek].
Here we camped with Mr Noel Gott
June 8 [1931]. Ran into town + saw
Mr. Monks. He told us that
timberwolf were coming
back in the interior, 2 were
taken last winter at the
head of [space left blank] Lake
Wolverine were found
In afternoon went down to
the Stamp River + set a
trap on a sand bar in
the river - bait chicken.
