Jasper. June 8/46 [1946].
Saw some wolf scats on the
road just above Medicine Lake
Chalet. 3 scats elk.
Jasper June 13/46 [1946]
Examined ad [adult] [female symbol] wolf shot by
Bert White at Decoigne yesterday.
Shot in broad daylight after it
had trotted up to an elk carcase [carcass]
then lay down close by. Color blackish
The animal measured 63" [inches], 17" [inches]
11" [inches], ear 4 1/4" [inches] weight 83 lbs. [pounds]
Stomach contents fresh remains
of calf elk.
Examined uterus + mammary
glands, she had definitely had
young this year but was no
longer nursing. This would
seem to indicate that she had
lost her young.
But found a lost snare
with remains of a wolf in it.
Taken this March. Sex unknown.
Scats: 4 elk.

On Signal Mt [mountain] road saw a large
gray wolf.
Scat:- Lamb bighorn.
