Arrived Herd camp 11 AM
Saw 2 pr [pairs] of swan en route
one pr [pair] with 2 young.
In PM saw 2 pr Golden
plover, many Glaucouse Gulls
and Longspurs 3 prs [pairs]
Savannah sparrows.
Saw many white [beluga] whales +
watched a hunt in which
2 were killed. Some
small young with the
band.
Examined white fox den
+ found remains of
ground squirrel + fox
at entrance.
In evening visited egg
Island + found a colony
of glaucous gulls on it.
took 6 or 8 eggs, 1 newly
hatched young + saw many
half grown young.
