Fine night with no frost,
mouse catch good. 6 Zapus, 3 Microtus
1 Synaptomys, + 2 Eutamias.
Set out some gopher traps.
June 27/38 [37, 1937]. Monashee Pass.
Went down McIntyre Creek + along
west side of 2nd Lake. Pikas
numerous but wary.
In small Juniper to nest,
4 eggs + [female symbol] hermit thrush. [all underlined]
2 Blackheaded Jays + 2 Alaska 3 toed
woodpeckers seen.
Saw a hoary marmot on
slide near head of lake.
Toads, R. [Rana] pretiosa + Hyla common
no snakes seen.
June 28/37.[1937] Monashee to Canal.
Auto trouble all the way.
Shot 5 Pikas at Tappen.
