July 18, 1936. Big Eutsuk Lake.
Saw fresh beaver work
at the mouth of Surel Creek.
around an old bank lodge.
These beaver were eating
small willows + green alder.
I was told by Fred Knowles
that there is quite a colony
on Surel Lake.

There is quite a lot of old
beaver work around the
west entrance to Pondosy
Bay. Large black-poplar
had been extensively cut.
Aug [August] 2-13/36 [1936] Indianpoint Lake.
Beaver are extremely
numerous here. I examined
3 occupied lodges on the lake
and another on one-mile
lake down Indianpoint River.
Very little mud had
been used on the lake houses
except on the one at the north
end. This house is in the
middle of an extensive
meadow, the others are built
on the lakeshore.
