- Olive-backed Thrush
Monashee Pass B.C. [British Columbia] June 23. 1937. alt. [altitude] 4000'
Several seen + heard. A breeding [male symbol] taken on
hill east of camp (by Kettle River)
June 24/37 [1937] Several heard singing
near camp
June 27/37 [1937]. A bdg [breeding] [male symbol] taken on east side of
River in spruce tree [words crossed out] willow bottom. There birds more
secretive + not so numerous as the
Hermit Thrush
Mt. [Mount] Revelstoke B.C. [British Columbia] 3400 ft. [feet] July 21. 1937.
This am [morning] found a thrushes nest about
a quarter of a mile below cabin on lower
side of road. Nest was in a small cedar
in thick growth, 4 ft [feet] from ground, contained
three eggs. Nest was composed of twigs, leaves
+ pine needles + buried with grass. Bird
sat closely on nest when found + did
not flush until I put my hand within
six inches of her head.
July 26. 1937. This bird still incubating
the three eggs.
