Covered Jar h: 36.5 cm, early Kangxi (1662-1722)
The exterior of this wucai (five-colour) jar is decorated with a scene of a dancing girl, with female musicians on either side, in front of an audience seated at a covered table with food. A zigzag fence, rocks, trees and clouds enclose the scene. There is a spotted border on the shoulders, which is typical of the period, and rocks alternating with flowers on the neck. The knobbed lid is decorated with boys separated by rocks.
