Examined 3 lots of old feces.
1. a winter deposit on snow.
100% Usnea + sedge.
2. Ants, rotten wood, + balsam
needles.
3. Berry pulp - blueberries.
July 8/37 [1937].
Found a dropping consisting
entirely of alpine parsnip.
July 9/37 [1937].
Encountered a [female symbol] with one cub.
[female symbol] small, about 150 lbs. [pounds], they had
been feeding along a small stream.

Droppings contained nothing but
seeds + scales of cones of Pinus
albicaulis. [underlined]
Mt [Mount] Revelstoke. July 21/37 [1937].
3400' in heavy cedar growth
1/4 mile below cabin found a den
in hollow cedar. In it were
several bushels of leaves, pine needles,
cedar tips etc. Opening on each
side. I could just curl up
in the nest cavity.
