The hermit sings from tree tops while the willow seldom chooses such an exposed perch. Vancouver, B.C. [British Columbia] Oct [October] 5/40 [1940] Took a [female symbol] thrush + saw another one. Absolutely silent. Came to an owl call but made no noise. U.B.C. [University of British Columbia] Apr. [April] 11, 1942 Saw 8 thrush + picked up one dead individual. Vancouver, B.C. [British Columbia] April 3/43 [1943] One thrush feeding on the lawn in the botanical gardens. Vancouver. April 21, 1946. Heard first thrush today. Victoria Sept [September] 14, 1992 A "Nanus" ssp [subspecies] killed itself on a window today
