On the dry ground the leaves are smaller + the pigment darker - is the nutritive or mineral content different Fir growing on good soil at low elevations is seemingly little damaged by deer, while the trees on poor, sunbaked areas where the stand is thin are browsed to a dome shaped shrub. Deaths. 2 eagles + 2 ravens feeding on a recently dead carcas [carcass]. Found the bones of a 3 mos [months] buck + two old deer - one a doe. In no instance had the bones been chewed by a large carnivore.
