  • 93 Dish d: 22.3 cm, c.1735 This armorial plate is decorated with the coat of arms of the Lambton family as borne by the Earls of Durham, England. One of the most famous members of the Lambton family, Colonel William Lambton, was a Royalist Commander who fell at Marston Moore in 1644. This service was probably made for one of his grandsons. The coat of arms displays three walking sheep on a black ground below a metal helmet and a ram�s head. The rim has gilded and enamelled flowers.
