  • Eutamias [underlined] Jasper. May 12/45. [1945] So far I have seen + taken just one Eutamias ludibundus [underlined] + that 3 miles N [north] of town in the same rock cut as last year. 4 chipmunks seen between Medicine + Maligne Lakes were all E. [Eutamias] minimus [underlined] . Waterton Lakes July 10-13 So far have taken 8 E. ruficaudus [underlined] all in the forested subalpine regions and one juvenile apparently E. a. lutieventris [underlined] [Eutamias amoenus luteiventris] in the low lying area east of town. (Aspen parkland) On the lower slopes of Vimy the buff-bellied chipmunk is quite common we saw 4 broods of young there on July 18. Others seen here + there through the parkland. Saw a ruficaudus [underlined] at timberline on Sofa + above timberline high on a rough talus on the S. [south] shoulder of the source basin of Crooked Creek took the only specimen of minimus [underlined] seen. Watchman Lake. July 26/45 [1945] Saw a minimus [underlined] chipmunk on Thompson pass, very shy - couldn't get a shot.
