  • July 12, 1937. Eva Lake, Revelstoke Park, B.C. [British Columbia] Today Joyce [Cowan] saw a very small rock rabbit, this is the first we have seen this year. The conies are just beginning to cut hay - little piles of veratrum + trollius are scattered about on the rock slides. Found one pile of drying sedge, another large pile contained mostly balsam tips, with some pine. Texas Cr. [Creek] Lillooet distr. [district] Nov. [November] 3-7. Conies abundant - not gathering food any longer in spite of the fact that some was still available. We collected several food samples - analyses of which are in my files. See File for food notes. Mt [Mount] Revelstoke, B.C. [British Columbia] July 8, 1937 in random sample. Equal quantities of white heath [heather], Spirea pectinata, Vaccinium ovatifolium [ovalifolium], + Abies lasiocarpa + Carex sp. [species] Two pieces of Usnea barbata + one flat lichen
