- Microtus mordax macrurus
Alta Lake, B.C. [British Columbia] 1955.
Three taken under rock along track opposite camp
in rock cutting near Macdermotts Nos [numbers] 1440 + 1447
+ another given to [Ian McTaggart] Cowan. All three males. No [number] 1440
was taken under small cairn of rocks placed over hole to
which was a runway through snow Dec [December] 30/35 [1935]- The
following day the same trap - a nipper rat trap - had
a dark coloured [female symbol] Rock-rabbit. # 1441. Shrews
+ these microtus kept constantly removing bait
from traps set for rock-rabbits.
Alta Lake B.C. [British Columbia] Aug [August] 9 1937. A juv. [juvenile] [male symbol] taken in the
marsh pines just north of wood shed.
Sproat Mtn [Mountain] B.C. [British Columbia] Sept. [September] 9. 1937 A [female symbol] #1659 taken
in tall weeds in front of cabin, Alt. [altitude] 4400 ft [feet].
