6 voles 150-152 + 154-155 taken
in shrubbery bordering Shuswap
Lake. The cannescens were mostly
in the wooded areas + made
extensive runways + tunnels
under fallen logs very
much resembling neurotriches
runs. One nest was examined
under a log slightly concave
on the under side. The nest
was in a depression about 2"
deep + 4 in [inches] wide; this hollow
was lined with dry grass +
sedge to the depth of 1/2" there
was no roof over the nest.
2 voles were taken by [word crossed out] near it.
There were cuttings of 2 kinds
of sedge + one other weed in
the runways. The "modestus"
