- Westwick Lake Sunday, June 19.
I put up the shore lead to
the trap and Nancy [Mahoney]
the deep-water one in the
morning, and washed clothes
in the afternoon. My hot
water bottle had become a mother
to four downie goldeneye.
I pulled the trap and leads
above water after dinner. Mrs.
Minow arrived with an EAGLE [underlined].
They (Nancy and Tim [Miles Timothy Myres]) put it in the hole with
the other flickers, and it seems
to have been accepted
Westwick Lake Monday, June 20
Weather: cloudy - rain shower in the
morning.
Nancy [Mahoney] moved the trap out into the
middle of the lake, as the birds
were swimming around the end of
the deep-water lead. I collected
more violets - another species is
growing down at the shore of the
lake. Tim [Miles Timothy Myres] took his ducklings for
a swim and put an enclosure
up for them in the afternoon. The
George Tuckers are going to build
a house by Sorenson Lake in
the corner of our pasture.
